# Competitor research: Simplify
## Workflow question
Does Simplify preserve reusable filters over TRACKED applications, or only save individual job listings, and which of the two workflows does the evidence show?
## Findings
1. Simplify's Job Tracker lets a user save a filtered search over tracked applications for later reuse
   - Source: https://help.simplify.jobs/articles/2140179-using-the-job-tracker
   - Passage: "You can also save filtered searches for easy access to the same groups of applications later." (appearing under the page's "How do I find a specific application?" section, immediately after the page lists filter dimensions: "Company," "Role," "Applied from / Applied until," "Status," and "Job type.")
   - Date: page shows "Last updated About 1 month ago"; retrieved 2026-09-17
   - Scope: Simplify web app, Job Tracker feature (the tracker that holds submitted applications, per the same article: "Applications submitted through Simplify are automatically added to your Job Tracker")
   - Relevance: This is the direct answer to the workflow question. The saved object is explicitly a filtered search over "applications" in the tracker, not a single job listing. It is current product documentation (not a launch announcement) describing a live feature, and it names the filter dimensions it can be built from and the fact that the resulting search can be saved and reopened later against the same group of tracked applications.

2. Simplify also lets a user save/bookmark an individual job listing, and that listing lands in the same Job Tracker view as tracked applications
   - Source: https://help.simplify.jobs/articles/5553994-savingbookmarking-a-job
   - Passage: "To view saved jobs later, click the Job Tracker in the navigation bar. You'll see your saved jobs on that page along with other listings you are tracking."
   - Date: page shows "Last updated 4 months ago"; retrieved 2026-09-17
   - Scope: Simplify web app, job-listing save/bookmark action (Copilot extension and web dashboard)
   - Relevance: Establishes that Simplify supports both workflows named in the question, not one instead of the other: saving individual listings is a real, separate action, and it feeds into the same Job Tracker that Finding 1's reusable filtered search operates over. This is what makes Finding 1 decisive rather than just one of two competing possibilities: the "filter" and the "individual save" are not alternate descriptions of the same feature, they are two distinct, independently documented capabilities, and the one that answers this question (a filter that can be saved and reused against a group of applications) is confirmed to exist alongside listing-level saving, not in place of it.
## Resolution
resolved: reusable filters
## Open
Two items were checked and left out of the findings above because they don't change the resolution:
- Whether saved filtered searches sit behind the paid Simplify+ tier or are available free was not established (https://help.simplify.jobs/articles/5623502-whats-included-in-simplify-features-and-pricing mentions the Job Tracker in the context of Simplify+ but does not say the saved-search feature specifically requires it). This is a pricing-scope question, not a workflow-existence question, so it does not bear on the resolution above, but a pricing-focused follow-up brief would need to confirm it directly against Simplify's checkout/paywall UI rather than help-center prose.
- The help-center article gives no version number or changelog entry for when "save filtered searches" shipped, only a relative "last updated" timestamp. That timestamp reflects the article's last edit, not necessarily the feature's ship date, so it cannot be used to date the feature's launch, only to confirm the description is current as of retrieval.
