Test harness

The stubs, drivers and test data set up to run software tests automatically: a test harness calls the code under test with chosen inputs and compares each result with the expected one. In Orbyt Collective, the word harness alone means its own set of guards and audit dimensions.

In the Machine: Every audit check the codebase runs.

  • Harness

The Collective's audit harness: its guard scripts and its audit dimensions (each one a kind of failure that has really happened).

  • Technical debt

The extra work a codebase carries when code ships quicker or rougher than it should: until the code is reworked, every later change costs more, like interest on an unpaid loan.

  • Audit dimension

One whole kind of failure the Collective's harness checks for on its own, such as a leaked secret, a broken link or a page AI answer engines cannot quote, each added because that failure really happened.
