Put the AI lab & Agents to work for you.

I run a company on the Machine, an agent leadership team with one human in the loop, and I have shipped software for twenty years. Bring me something complicated. I will work out what can run on its own, what still needs a person, and how you will know when it fails.

Pitch your project.
A person at a desk with three monitors of code in a dark server room lit blue, glowing server towers on both sides and a wall of vertical blue light behind.

What I bring.

I am Justin Bartak, founder of Orbyt Labs. I have shipped software for twenty years. AI in my work and my life for years before it was the whole job, and Claude Code and Codex since day one. CTO, product lead, marketing lead, founder, often at once. I can drop into most rooms and be useful on the first day, whether the problem is the architecture, the product, the team, or the model.

I build with taste. The question I ask of every screen is what it would look like if Apple built it. Steve Jobs reviewed my first product. Apple featured it at WWDC and in its stores from London to Tokyo. I have raised venture capital for my own company, and I have built the prototypes and working apps that other companies raised on.

  • AI-native

Product, engineering and operations built on models from the first day, not bolted on after.

  • Agents

Agents that do real work, and the test harness that keeps them honest when the model changes.

  • AI transformation

Getting a real team from a demo to a workflow they trust. The people part is most of it.

  • The titles

CTO three times. CPO, CDO and CMO too, sometimes at the same company at the same time. Founder four times.

  • Regulated fintech

Banking, payments, tax, payroll and accounting. Places where a wrong number costs real money.

  • CRM and ERP

Small business to enterprise. B2B and B2C.

The projects I want are the ones where something is complicated and expensive and should not be. Take the complexity out. Put agents in. Make it catch its own failures, so nobody has to babysit it. That is the whole game at the lab, and I am happy to play it in your shop.

This lab is my most current work and my thesis about where all of this goes, written down and running. Orbyt Labs runs on 12 agent seats under written rules, 23 scheduled jobs, 114 guards that check every change before a person reads it, 80 failures written down the day they bit, and 58 decisions in a public log. Every number in that sentence is read from the file that publishes it. You can read the failures, watch the org run, follow the numbers as I build in public, and read what it taught me. Running itself is the goal. It is not a promise that your workflow needs nobody watching it on day one.

I do the work. When a project needs more hands, I have a small team I trust. I keep this small on purpose so the products and the research keep moving. The longer story is on the founder page and at justinbartak.ai, and I am on LinkedIn.

The Walk. A fixed-scope assessment.

The first engagement is The Walk, a fixed-scope AI agent assessment. This lab has one rule it will not bend: a path nobody has walked is not a working path. So you bring one workflow, one pilot, or one decision, and I walk it end to end with you, against a test that can fail. You leave with four things.

  • The decision

Ordinary automation, an assisted workflow, a bounded agent, or not yet. What it could save, what it costs to run, and what still needs you.

  • The rules

What the agent may touch, who approves what, when it stops, and who answers for it.

  • The test

Real tasks and real failures, checked against the work itself and never the agent's word for it, plus the check you run before every model change.

  • The next step

What to do first, what depends on what, and a pilot scope if one is earned.

Sometimes the honest answer is that an agent is the wrong tool. You get that one too. If you want me to stay and build afterwards, that is a separate conversation. Drop in, help, get out works too.

Priced per engagement. Industry rate for this work and this much experience. A fixed fee when the scope is stable. No number here, because the number depends on the project.

Quick answers.

Do we need to use Orbyt products?

No. I work in your stack. If one of mine fits I will say so, and it will not be a condition.

Do you advise, or build?

Both. I advise first. The Walk, a fixed-scope assessment, is advice with artifacts. Building is a separate pilot with its own scope, and you can take The Walk to your own team instead.

What do we own, and what stays private?

Ownership and confidentiality are agreed in writing before I start. Nothing from your project is published without your permission.

What do we get from The Walk?

Four things: the decision, the rules, the test, and the next step. Whether to build ordinary automation, an assisted workflow, a bounded agent, or nothing yet; what the agent may touch and who answers for it; a test against the work itself; and what to do first.

Is an agent always the answer?

No. Sometimes the honest answer is that an agent is the wrong tool, and The Walk gives you that answer too.

How is it priced?

Priced per engagement. Industry rate for this work and this much experience. A fixed fee when the scope is stable. No number on the page, because the number depends on the project.

Do you take fractional roles?

In the right situation, yes. CTO, CPO, or Chief AI Officer, for a season, when a company needs the seat filled well and does not need the hire yet.

Pitch me.

I take a few consulting projects at a time, and I pick them. The interesting ones win: complicated, expensive, and ready to be simple. A few lines about the problem is enough to start. No source code, credentials, or customer data yet; we agree how to handle those before I see any of them.

The workflow or research question, and the decision in front of you.

Goes to hello@orbytlabs.ai. I read every one and answer the ones that fit. If the form fails, email me directly.
