Token
The small unit of text a language model reads and writes, often a whole word or a piece of one. A text model's context window and much of its usage are measured in tokens.

The amount of input and output a model can consider at one time, counted in tokens: the conversation so far, any documents, images or other inputs, and the reply it is writing.
- Large language model
A model with a very large number of parameters, trained on very large amounts of text to predict the next token, which lets it write, summarize and answer questions.
