Why some titles share a number.
You will notice repeated figures in the table. Those 20 roles resolve to 4 distinct bands, and 19 of them share a band with at least one other title. That is a property of the source, not a rounding artefact. ASHE publishes its pay distribution per SOC 2020 occupation, not per job title, so every title Orbyt maps to one occupation code reads the same three percentiles.
We publish it that way on purpose. Splitting the titles apart would mean inventing differences the data does not contain, so the honest option is to show the shared band and say why it is shared. Where a title carries its own occupation code, its numbers move independently.
What this is not.
UK figures are national. ASHE Table 14 carries no geography dimension, so there is no London premium in these numbers and no city breakdown behind them. They are base salary only, before bonus, equity or benefits. The full sourcing and reconciliation write up lives in the methodology paper.
